It’s officially summer here, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. What is it about summer?! Everything! 
We kicked off our first summer weekend with some root beer floats and friends in the backyard.
I love decorating for holidays, especially the 4th of July. Sometimes I leave it up all summer, but I definitely like to get it up at the first of June to give it a full month to shine. I will for sure leave it up as we watch and cheer during the London Games this summer. (I LOVE the summer games!)
I’ve been wanting to add some more color to our little patio table in the backyard. I found some chair cushions and some fun Americana pennant flags to hang from the umbrella at World Market. They have so many fun red, white and blue decor items, perfect for a backyard bbq or even just having some friends over for root beer floats like we did.
I have a thing for these red and white checkered papers for bbqs.
I loved seeing all the red white and blue things in World Market. Here’s a few of my favorites. I wish I could have brought them ALL home.
We’ve had this little patio table for a while, and recently spray painted it this dark charcoal color. I love the pop of red with the pillows added.
I always want to entertain, but sometimes I never get around to making it happen. That’s why I love the summer, you can entertain with ease, because it’s the more the merrier type of casual entertaining. And it doesn’t have to be elaborate. Simple is almost better.
Fun for the kids too! (My girl is still taking signatures on her shirt…I love my little 3rd grade graduate.)

The World Market store is in Midvale and there is one in Park City too. You will love it!
World Market and Pier Imports are my fav. Every Sunday is funday at our house in the summer. Pool, BBQ etc. It’s so much easier to entertain and host. Have a great summer!
