When Kyle (my husband) was in about fifth grade, he came up with this simple brownie recipe from scratch for a school assignment. I’m not quite sure how he has an original recipe (as a fifth grader), and I still don’t have one. I gotta get on that! 😉
Since his fifth grade year, this recipe has stayed a classic in their family, and is now always referred to as “Kyle’s Brownies”. If you like more cake-like brownies, then you will love this recipe. I’m a big fan of box mix brownies, and sometimes you just need something chocolate, but you might not have a box of brownie mix, but you probably DO have all the ingredients to make brownies from scratch!
Here’s the recipe:
- 2 sticks of butter (room temp)
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups flour
- 4 Tbs. cocoa powder
- 1 tsp. Vanilla
- ½ tsp salt
- Mix all together and bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
That’s it! If you are in ‘a chocolate jam’ this recipe will save the day! 🙂
