We love this Asian inspired recipe for an easy weeknight meal.
Oriental Beef and Carrot Hot Dish- This recipe is an old family favorite. You might be able to guess this by the title alone. “Hot Dish” isn’t exactly the kind of words you’d find in a recipe today (tee-hee), but if you go off taste alone, this recipe is a keeper!
This is a great recipe to use up leftover steak from the night before. Kyle and I went out for our anniversary, and we both came home with leftover steak, so I put it to good use in this recipe.
Oriental beef and carrot hot dish
- 1/2 pound thinly sliced beef
- 2 cups carrots julienne
- 1 Can beef broth
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon corn starch
- 2 tablespoons water
Brown the beef in extra virgin olive oil.
Add the remaining ingredients and simmer for 30 minutes.
Add the carrots and cook until tender.
Serve over rice.
