DIY Easter Egg Hunt Banner
Thanks to our sponsor Zonderkidz, we’re getting our family ready for Easter! We love the Berenstain Bears books, and their Easter Book: THE BERENSTAIN BEARS AND THE EASTER STORY is such a sweet and simple way to talk with our kids about the true reason we celebrate Easter. This book, originally released in 2012, is timeless and one we will love to read year after year. If you love to collect children’s books to celebrate holidays, you’ll definitely want to add this one to your collection.
To get in the Easter spirit, we thought it would be fun to make a simple Easter Banner in preparation for our annual Easter Egg Hunt! We’ve had a mild winter here, and it’s already feeling warm outside, so I think we can plan our little egg hunt for outside this year!
Here’s what you need to make this simple paper carrot banner:
-10 strips of orange paper 3 1/2in. x 1 in.
-15 strips of green paper 1/2 in. x 2 in.
–stapler with tiny staples (or regular stapler)
–green and white bakers twine
*Optional: square felt letter board to write out: Easter Egg Hunt
-A simple black chalkboard with: Easter Egg Hunt spelled out in chalk
-Use pinking shears to give a decorative edge to the long sides of both the orange and the green paper strips.
-Staple two orange strips together on one end.
-Shaping the two orange pieces together in the shape of a heart, add three small green strips to the top of the inverted orange strips and staple the two orange pieces together with the three green strips, with the green pieces staggered in placement when stapled.
-Pierce a hole in the green pieces to string the baker’s twine through each one to string them all together to make a simple banner.
-Tape the ends of the bakers twine to the top back corners of your sign to display it.
-Enjoy your cute banner!
I’ll be one of the first to tell you how much I LOVE Easter candy! The Berenstain Bears in the book even talk about how much they LOVE the Easter candy, but this book really helps bring it all back to the real reason we celebrate Easter.
The Berenstain Bears and the Easter Story is great for kids between the ages 4 – 7, but my son is 9…almost 10, and I loved reading it with him. I think it’s a always a good refresher this time of year, and a great way to tell the true meaning of Easter to our kids…and what an amazing truth…He is Risen…such a gift to us all!
Visit Amazon to purchase: The Berenstain Bears and the Easter Story. Did you know the first Berenstain Bears book written by Stan and Jan Berenstain was first published in 1962?! It’s one of our favorite children’s book series. In the 50+ years since “The Big Honey Hunt,” the Berenstain Bears have been translated into over a dozen languages; and over 300 million books have been sold worldwide.
More about this book: The Berenstain Bear cubs are candy-crazy this Easter! The Sunday school teacher tells the cubs about the true meaning of Easter. Included with the book is a sheet of colorful stickers too! This book would be a darling addition to Easter baskets this year.
I hope you guys have a fun time celebrating Easter with your little ones!
