Why wait for Mickey D’s shamrock shake, when you can make your own.
To make the cute shamrock shake stir stick, all you need is a heart shaped craft punch, green glitter paper and a wooden skewer. Just punch out three little paper hearts and make a stem with good old scissors.
This would make for a perfect after school snack!
Here’s the recipe:
Shamrock Shake
3 cups vanilla ice cream
1 cup whole milk
¼ teaspoon peppermint extract
10 drops green food coloring
Actually I think it would be a heck of a whole lot easier just to buy your favorite Mint Chocolate Chip Ice cream and mix it up with milk. Then you wouldn’t have to mess with food coloring and get the funky color that I ended up with. Either way you go, it is goo-ood!
P.S. Poor St. Patty’s Day, I won’t skip over you.

Icky, icky mint flavor. How about lime sherbet and sprite? Sound better? YES!
Sorry, but leprechauns like fruity not mint.
Mint is the best! I have a weakness for shakes…Yum!!!

I love St. Paddy’s Day! It’s my grandpa’s b-day, so we’ve always celebrated it! I love mint things too, have to try the shake, thanks for the recipe!
Great Idea we can’t wait to make it for St. Patty’s
thanks for the b-day wishes, kami!
the mint chip would actually turn the shake a bit brownish, mostly because of the chips, but still a much easier way than using the food coloring! I LOVE ice cream,I mean really LOVE IT! I’m totally making a green shake for St. Patty’s day.
‘m so consumed with St. Patty’s day that I am afraid I’ll forget Easter this year.
I’m with your mom, I like lime sherbet and sprite. I’ll have to be festive for my kiddos.
MMM… Looks like it was MINT to be!
I’m green with envy!
That shake (sham)ROCKS!
