Roll the dough out to about 12" by 8". Spread the butter onto the top of the dough. Now sprinkle it with the sugar and cinnamon. Scatter 1 cup of finely chopped apples over the dough.
Place in a greased pan and let the rolls rise a second time for 45 minutes.
For the frosting: Mix together the melted butter, milk and powdered sugar until desired consistency is reached. Add more milk or sugar as needed.
Spread the butter cream frosting over the warm apple cinnamon rolls. Enjoy warm.
