Learn How to make easy overnight oats! You’ll be amazed at how good they are.
How’s the new back to school routine going at your house? It’s going good for us so far. One thing that helps are quick and easy breakfasts. Have you ever made overnight oats before? We’re loving them lately as an easy go-to breakfast. Plus they can be gluten and dairy free and not to mention they’re good for you too.
The chia seeds expand the oats in the fridge overnight. You can eat it cold in the morning, or I’m sure you could microwave it for a minute if you like them served warm. You can eat it right from the jar, or you can serve it in a bowl. Be sure to add your favorite fruit, berries, almond milk and honey like you see here.
Have you ever made anything with chia seeds? They’re great for long term energy to start your day. They have lots of protein and fiber, in addition to lots of other health benefits. There’s so many different ways to consume them, but these overnight oats are one of my favorites.
I like using a funnel for this, so those tiny seeds don’t go all over the place.
We use almond milk for the liquid, but you could use regular milk too if you’d like.
Once you’ve added the almond milk, chia seeds and the rolled oats, twist on the lid and give it a few shakes and store it in the fridge overnight.
In the morning, the chia seeds will have expanded and the oats will be soft, and most all the liquid will be absorbed.
