My girl started the 2nd Grade on Monday. Usually I hate this time of year because it means the end to my most favorite-est season: SUMMER! Not this year, and I’m not exactly sure why, except for the fact that I think we were all ready to have more of a schedule to our days.
Her first day went well…she only called me twice! The first time to tell me who she wanted to play with after school, and the second time she called to tell me that she pulled out her ‘other’ front tooth – which is definitely worthy of a call. The first call…uh, not so much.
Here she is on the first day of second grade:
and here she is on the second day of Second Grade: minus a tooth and plus a goofy giant green homemade flower headband made by her mom (because I’m crafty like that…).
ps. I’m sharing the HOW-TO for these DIY chalkboard speech bubbles (like the one in the pic up top). It’s crazy how easy they are to make. It makes me want to cover a whole wall with them…wouldn’t that be fun?!
Did you cry? I always cry on the first day, cuz, you know…it's all about ME!
I love you Avery!
Woah Kami!! That is a HUGE flower atop such a cute girl. Love the toothless grin. They're getting so big. I remember when I was in 2nd grade, Natasha Chin dared me to go into the boys bathroom and I did and she told on me to Mrs Donaldson (she was mean.)
Adorable! I love that she called you twice, precious.
So cute! That is awesome that she pulled out her own front tooth. Paige would be too scared! And I love the phone call home… that is awesome!
Congrats to Avery! Hope she has a great year!
So darling. So so cute.
Cute pictures! Love the speech bubble. Heading over to find out how to make it right now 🙂

soo cute. i love the speech bubble.
What a great way to make the ol' "1st day of school" photo so much better. My daughter lost both of her front teeth last week as well- not two days in a row! Wow- your tooth fairy was working overtime!
She looks so cute! Good job on the headband, you are for sure crafty like that!
