Peach Cobbler

Nothing beats old fasioned classic peach cobbler, it's a must when peaches are in season.

Ingredients
  • 4 cups peaches peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
For the Batter:
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
  2. In a saucepan, add the peaches, sugar and salt. Stir to combine.
  3. Cook the peaches on medium high heat in a saucepan until the sugar dissolves and the juices from the peaches come out. Remove from the heat and set aside.

  4. Slice the butter into slabs and place into a 9x13in. dish. Place the baking dish with the butter into the oven while the oven preheats. Let the butter melt in the oven. As soon as the butter is melted, take the pan out of the oven.

  5. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add in the milk and stir all together until combined.
  6. Carefully pour this mixture into the baking dish, over the melted butter. Smooth out the batter in an even layer all over the bottom of the baking dish.
  7. With a slotted spoon, spoon the peaches over the batter. Sprinkle it all with ground cinnamon over the top.
  8. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

If using canned or bottled peaches, skip step two and three.
