Homemade Pizza Sauce

Skip the store bought jar and make flavorful pizza sauce at home.

Ingredients
  • 1 6oz. can tomato paste
  • 1 15oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1-2 tablespoons dried oregano
  • 2 tablespoons Italian Seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon garlic salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon fresh black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
Instructions
  1. In a medium sized sauce pan, add the tomato paste and the tomato sauce, mixing well, making sure they are well combined.

  2. Add the rest of the ingredients (oregano, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, garlic salt, pepper and sugar). Warm to medium high heat for a few minutes then turn off the heat and continue mixing for a few minutes more.

  3. Use on your favorite pizza dough recipe. This recipe makes enough for two-three medium sized pizzas, you can always double this recipe to make more.

Recipe Notes

To store:
*Refrigerate: Any leftover sauce can be kept in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week. The sauce will thicken in the refrigerator. When ready to use again, gently warm it in the microwave before using.
*Freeze: Will keep in an airtight container in the freezer for up to two months.
