Peaches and Cream Pie

Think peach cobbler with a delicious sweetened cream cheese top.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 3oz. package non-instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 tablespoons butter softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 5 cups fresh peaches peeled and sliced
  • 1 8oz. package cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease the sides and bottom of a 9x13 baking dish.

  2. In a medium mixing bowl, mix together the flour, salt, baking powder and pudding mix. Mix in butter, egg and milk. Beat for 2 minutes. Pour mixture into pie pan.

  3. Arrange the peach slices on top of the pudding mixture.

  4. In a small mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Add 1/2 cup sugar and 3 tablespoons reserved peach syrup (if available). Beat for 2 minutes. Spoon mixture over the peaches.

  5. Mix together 1 teaspoon sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, and sprinkle over top.

  6. Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, until golden brown.

  7. Out of the oven, let it sit for 10 minutes before cutting into it. You can serve it warm like peach cobbler OR you can serve it chilled.

Recipe Notes

If fresh peaches are not available, you can use 1 29oz. can sliced peaches, drained. Syrup reserved.
