How to cook bacon the best way...in the oven!

Ingredients
  • 1 - 2 pounds bacon
Instructions
  1. Line the pan with tin foil. Two pieces of foil folded tightly together to completely cover the baking sheet pan.

  2. Place the strips of bacon on top.
  3. Place the pan into a cold, unheated oven (use the middle rack).
  4. Set the oven to bake at 400°F (204°C).
  5. Set the timer for 20 minutes. It may take a bit more time, depending on your oven...and how you like your bacon...chewy or crispy.

  6. At about half way through the cooking time, move and separate the bacon on the pan to allow for even cooking.
  7. Remove the pan from the oven. Place the crispy bacon on a plate lined with a paper towel to absorb excess grease.
  8. Let the bacon grease cool in the pan for a bit and if you'd like to save the bacon fat, you can transfer it to an empty cleaned out glass jar. If you plan to toss all the bacon grease, let it cool in the pan. Place a few paper towels on top to soak up the bacon grease. Roll it all up with the tin foil to throw it all out at once.
