String cheese snowmen make a cute snack for a Frozen Themed birthday party or a winter snack for school or for home.
Here’s a simple idea that’s too cute not to share: string cheese snowmen. So many creative snack ideas for kids involve sugar, so I was thrilled to find these as an alternative. Perfect for a craft at a school party plus they’re edible so the kids will love it even more.
All you need to make string cheese snowmen:
-one pack of string cheese
-Sharpies: orange and black
-a spool of ribbon to make the scarves
-12×12 piece of black card stock for the top hat
For the top hat, I used an old cutting die from a snowman kit from Lifestyle Crafts, but you could easily just cut out little square top hats.
So simple and so cute.
I’d love to know, will you be helping out at your school Christmas parties this year?

hi ! What do you use to adhere the hats?
kami says
I used my low temp hot glue gun, so they would stick really well.

I love this! And not just for kids – I would bring these to work. We have LOTS of “food days”. Lots.
This would be something cute and snacky – without being too, shall we say, diet breaking.

Anyone nervous that the Sharpie will bleed through the plastic to the cheese?
kami says
Hi Wendy! Apparently I’m not. 🙂 Do what you feel best though.
Sandy says
Use a food safe food color instead if the sharpie makes you nervous.
I don’t think you use enough ink to bleed through the wrapper.

Very cute! My daughter’s Christmas party at her preschool is tomorrow and I would love to make these. Since I know my daughter and her classmates will really enjoy these! However I don’t have a glue gun do you think regular glue would work instead?
Kami says
Sure! Or glue dots.

I used regular glue …twice… And the hats all fell off still . No glue gun at home so I used rolled up one sided tape. And the cheesesticks kept on sweating so the marker color didn’t stay so well. They are made but surely not as nice as yours. But hope the kiddos still like them.

I was thinking that double stick tape would work as well. Lot safer for kiddos if you are allowing them t

Your picture is one of them. You can find the pictures and all information on my post if you want do to pursue the matter. http://kelliskitchen.org/2014/10/norman-kids-magazine-is-your-picture-in-it/
There have already been several bloggers contact the publisher – they have a FB page – it’s in the post as well.

That’s such a cute idea for holiday parties, especially Frozen parties.

USE CAUTION when using a sharpie on plastic. Although it maybe cute, the chemicals from the Sharpie do go through plastic and be transmitted into the cheese (or anything else you would use a Sharpie on).
