When we installed new floors back in January, we also updated our front room too.
Our front room (right off the entry) is open to the entry. It’s one of those rooms that you could either:
-make super formal and sit down in when you have guests or “visits”
-make into a usable office – which is what we have been using it for.
Here is the room before:
Along with the floors, we added board and batten which works well with the vaulted ceilings. At first I wanted a bright blue paint color for a fun playful look, until it was all finished, and the blue looked more like “baby boy nursery”.
Ugg…don’t you hate when you pick the wrong color right off the bat?!
Here you can see the blue that quickly was painted over with white and the stone lion color.
We then ended up with the color: Stone Lion (by Kwall). I LOVE this color! It’s very calming. It goes really well with the white. Flat white. I was worried about flat white, and I had to get talked into it, but now I LOVE it! I love how there is no shine or glare from the lights on the walls at night.
Here is the AFTER:
I am slowly decorating it. It will be my craft room/office. YAY, a craft room! Finally a craft room! Right off the entry?! Sure…why not?! 🙂 We moved what use to be Aiden’s changing table into this room (the white piece on the left). It is the perfect little craft station. I prefer to craft or create standing up, so it works great in here.
I will share more pics as I decorate along the way.
