Turkey Marionettes – Thanksgiving kid craft

A couple of years ago at Thanksgiving, my sister had this cute Turkey marionette craft for the kids to make on Thanksgiving day while we waited for dinner. The kids loved making them!

Here’s what you need to make one:

– a Hot glue gun (for step 1 only)
– 2 chopsticks
– pieces of yellow and green craft foam
– 2 wooden beads
– a sharp pencil
– 3-inch styrofoam ball
– 2 1/2-inch styrofoam ball
– 1 yard of 7/32-inch-wide cotton cord or clothesline
– Tape
– Tacky Glue
– 1 yard feather boa
– Embroidery floss
– Skewer
– Feathers
– 15 mm googly eyes

For the full How-To, click over to Spoonful. To make it look more like a Turkey just add a red bead under the beak to look like a turkey neck. :)

Some friends that follow you informed me that you’re in the hospital on bed rest. Our rooms look the same. We may be in the same hospital on bed rest together. Hang in there. We’re so blessed with everything that can be done for our babies these days. I’ll keep checking your blog for progress updates. -Amy

    Hey Kami,
    Thinking about you every day.

This craft is a great idea. I’m going to buy the supplies — although we now have a 12 month old in our cousin’s camp and I fear she will be a menace to these marionettes!
