Thrifty Thursday – your Grandma’s style

Forget your “Grandpa’s style”, I’m all about your Grandma’s style. ;)

I’ve been ‘poppin’ tags’ again…well, actually I never really stopped. I’m addicted to the thrill of the hunt, it’s just too fun. Here’s a few of my fun finds.

Isn’t the pattern on this folding lawn chair fun? It’s crazy how it’s now back in style again. When I brought it home, it was really dirty. I literally gave it a bath in my tub.

The daisy afghan. So colorful. It must have taken someone a long time to make.

The 70s floral clock plus matching wall pieces. It totally matches the afghan! Wouldn’t they both be fun in a cute little trailer?

And these gold mirrors have such fun shapes. I think I might make the inside of the big one into a chalkboard.

That’s it for today. Have you found anything great at the thrift shop lately?

  1. I adore that folding chair! I hope you paint that aluminum some awesome color to spice it up like hot pink or bright yellow or something! Or maybe do like a “dipped” look :) LOVE IT!!
Thanks for sharing your awesome scores!

  2. Hi Kami! For some reason your blog stopped updating in my bloglovin app. Did anything change on your end? Good thing I came back to my google reader app…I haven’t seen any of your posts for weeks!

    • Hi Kelly!

Oh no! Shoot! That is no good!

I subscribe to my own blog through blog lovin, just to be able to see what my readers see, and I see the updates.

That is really weird. Maybe you could try to resubscribe with bloglovin again?

I hope we can figure it out before Google Reader is no more.

      Thanks for letting me know.

Kami, Just had to tell you that my fiance and I both got a big “kick” outta your reference to the song about thrifting!!! We’re both addicted to the song, and I’m slowly getting him addicted to the thrifting!!! Too much fun is right! As a matter of fact when we first got together and I’d asked him to take me to the thrift store, he got all “macho” on me and kept apologizing for not being able to take me shopping in the better stores! Well after about the tenth time of this I stopped short right in the middle of the thrift store and told him “Let’s get one thing straight, right now! First of all I don’t care how much money or material things you may have, it’s you I love not that crap; and Second, If you EVEN TRY to keep me from shopping at the thrift stores, we’re gonna have more problems than oil and vinegar!”

  4. I want that afghan!! So awesome. I want to go thrifting with you again!! You’ve got the eye!

    • Thanks Marie!

Now that you love knitting, I wonder how difficult you think something like this would be to make.

How are the thrift stores by you?

      We need to go again!

      That day was so fun!

  5. that song is on my running playlist!! love that chair. sweet find.

  6. So…super embarrassing. Apparently I never was subscribed to your blog on bloglovin. I was subscribed to itsnobiggie…some random never-updated blog. But I’ve got it all straightened out now. Thanks!

    • oh good! So glad to hear this. Pfew! I was worried that others might have had the same problem too. Thanks for letting me know. <3
