The Studio 5: Five Dollar Craft Challenge

*Thank you so much for all the nice birthday wishes yesterday, they made my day…I loved it! I just got home yesterday from a whirlwind week away. I was at Blissdom in Nashville and CHA (Craft and Hobbies Association) in L.A.. I’m excited to share all the highlights of the conference and the trade show.

I have to give a major BIG shout out to Kyle for supporting me with the opportunities and the travel I have done over the last year. His support makes it all possible for me to continue on this path. The highlight of my birthday yesterday was seeing him and the kids. One whole week away is a long time. I was missing them all so much.

So…until I can get a handle on the laundry and the big weekend ahead (Avery’s getting baptised this weekend), I thought it would be fun to share this little video:

Our local daily show Studio 5 invited me back to be on the show again (I know!). Here’s a peek at the last time they had me on.

Last week, they were running a fun contest: The 5 Dollar Craft Challenge, where crafters come up with a craft that is under five dollars. Although it is too late to submit an entry, it’s fun to see the entries and be inspired. I love that crafting doesn’t have to be expensive.

For my “under 5 dollar craft” for the segment, I shared the How-To on the book paper apple.

This time they filmed the segment at my house. I about had a panic attack right before they showed up, because my sewing machine wasn’t working and I couldn’t figure it out. Luckily one of the guys working on our new floors was able to help me figure it out (thank you Brandon! or I should say: Thank you Brandon’s mom. :)).

In the video you can see our new wood floors a bit in the background. I’m excited to show you the fun before and after images…so stay tuned. :)

Any who, I thought it would be fun to share the little How-To video here, and get us all thinking: it doesn’t have to be expensive to be cute. “Here-Here!”

Good job, Kam! I like how you reached for the foot lever that is on our old machine. Are you in the running? or just helping?

I loved seeing my new friend on video. You did a great job. So cute and your house is amazing! Love the new floors. We are putting new hardwood through our whole house too. So much work though.
