Quick Tip: Recycle Old Christmas Cards

Rather than throw away those pretty cards from Christmas, turn your old Christmas cards into a Christmas tag to be used next year.

To do this, you could either use a craft paper punch, cutting dies, or just scissors.

“Use it up,
wear it out,
make it do
or do without.”

Love this. I also do the same thing with kids' party invitations. I turn them into a gift tag for their gift.

you can also paste the card front to a plain gift bag and it transforms into a beautiful gift bag. If you want to go crazy you can add a little glitter or embellishments – but most of the time that is not necessary.

Another thing you can do with old card fronts from anytime of year, is send them in to a school for teachers to put in the writing center. Students can then use them to make cards for people around the school, at home, in the neighborhood, etc. When I taught, I had kids that would use them to make a b'day card to give to their mom, or a Christmas card for the bus driver, etc. I gave a giant basket full to my daughter's teacher last year and they made cards for people all year long, all the while practicing those writing skills!
