Our front room before & after

When we installed new floors back in January, we also updated our front room too.

Our front room (right off the entry) is open to the entry. It’s one of those rooms that you could either:
-make super formal and sit down in when you have guests or “visits”
-make into a usable office – which is what we have been using it for.

Here is the room before:

Along with the floors, we added board and batten which works well with the vaulted ceilings. At first I wanted a bright blue paint color for a fun playful look, until it was all finished, and the blue looked more like “baby boy nursery”.

Ugg…don’t you hate when you pick the wrong color right off the bat?!

Here you can see the blue that quickly was painted over with white and the stone lion color.

We then ended up with the color: Stone Lion (by Kwall). I LOVE this color! It’s very calming. It goes really well with the white. Flat white. I was worried about flat white, and I had to get talked into it, but now I LOVE it! I love how there is no shine or glare from the lights on the walls at night.

Here is the AFTER:

I am slowly decorating it. It will be my craft room/office. YAY, a craft room! Finally a craft room! Right off the entry?! Sure…why not?! :) We moved what use to be Aiden’s changing table into this room (the white piece on the left). It is the perfect little craft station. I prefer to craft or create standing up, so it works great in here.

I will share more pics as I decorate along the way.

So cute Kami! And such a BIG space – perfect for a craft/office! I think we’ll be doing the same thing some day. Every house we look at has tons of formal rooms and we want two office spaces or one big one we can share. Makes so much more sense than a room that sits empty 353 days of the year!

    You’ve done a darling job!

Love it & the colors too! I’ve been trying to talk my hubby into letting me change our front room into a craft room/office. Right now it has all our exercise stuff in it.

New to your blog too. Love it, so cute!!!

Love it! I want to do something similar to my entryway but I’ve been too afraid to do it on my own. You guys did an awesome job, love the floors and board and batten!
