I absolutely love it when blog friends come out with a book, it’s so fun to see their talent in print and to celebrate with them! My sweet friend Ashley of Make it and Love it just released her first book. If you know and love Ashley, then you know how amazing she is with her sewing machine. My jaw drops every year when I see her kids in their adorable handmade Halloween costumes she makes every year. She’s so talented. Her new book is a surprise from what we all know and love about her site, No Sew Love is a book filled with 50 completely darling and totally doable No-Sew projects to tackle at home. It’s perfect for a non-sewer like myself.
I first met Ashley in 2011 at a blogger event hosted by Michael’s Craft Stores. It was so fun getting to know her then, and I have loved learning from her and seeing her success over the years. (In this photo: Ashley of Make it and Love it – myself – Alison of How Does She)
I am so impressed with the big varied of projects featured in the book along with step by step photos to go with. One of the things I love is how the amount of time each project will take is listed right at the top, so you can plan accordingly before you start a project, this is such a nice feature. From clothing to aprons to necklaces to pillows and more, this book has something for everyone at all skill levels.
“No-Sew Love” has 6 different chapters: Home Decor, Kids, Accessories, Clothing, Holiday, and Re-purposing. My favorite chapters are the fun accessories and holiday ideas.
This book would make a great gift for you or someone you love. I’m so excited to tackle a few of the projects with my girl this Fall and get her started making things with fabric.
You can order No-Sew Love on Amazon, or you can find it at stores like Jo-Ann Fabric, Hancock Fabric, and other local Indie Bookstores.
If you’d like to try to win a copy, Ashley and her publisher are nice enough to give one away to a NoBiggie reader. Just leave a comment here on this post answering this quesion:
When it comes to fabric, what are you loving right now: florals, patterns, solids…and what would you love to make with her new book as a guide? I’d love to hear in the comments.
The winner will be announced on this post on August 20th after 10 PM. Must be 18 years or older and live in the U.S. to enter.
*Congrats Sandy! #7
