I love getting ready for the 4th of July. Now that I’ve shown a bit of our outdoor decor, Here’s our mantle all decorated for the 4th (this was last year – 2011). I’m not sure how I’ll decorate it this year since the makeover of the family room, but I still love the look of those five stars.
I also painted these U.S.A. letters with some DecoArt Americana paint and sanded down the edges. So simple.

My dog even loves to get into the spirit of the holiday.
Nah…not really, but he’s a good sport.

Right now DecoArt is having a great contest and guess what… I’m one of the judges for it! So fun!

Here are THE RULES:
All you need to do is to submit your projects to: DecoArt.com/diy
OR you may add your Americana project to an Americana board and email a link of your board to: bloggeroutreach@decoart.com
All entries must contain at least one DecoArt Americana paint, specialty paint or medium.
They can be older projects, but you can only enter each project once.
If they have multiple projects, they may enter them, as long as the project hasn’t been entered previously. The first giveaway is this Thursday, so head over and upload your crafts. It only takes a minute!
The judges will pick a winner each week, from a Pinterest board that DecoArt will create out of the submitted projects. A winner is selected over the next three weeks and the winner wins a $25 gift card to their choice of craft store. Those three winners are then loaded into a special, NEW craft voting site dedicated to Americana projects. Voters are driven there to cast their pick of a favorite of the 3 weekly winners.
PRIZE:
Overall winner wins $100 worth of DecoArt crafting products, as well as a $150 gift card to their choice of craft store! (that’s a $250 prize pack for one of the three finalists!).
Contest begins this week – the Week of June 4, 2012. Voting begins the Week of June 25, 2012, with the winner being announced, and crowned “Best of America(na)” on July 2nd, 2012
