Make your own berry baskets

One of the trends I’m loving right now are berry baskets. I love seeing how you can use them as gift packaging or as photo props. I love how the girls at Eighteen25 used it as a fun teacher gift, or how Bridget filled them with her darling cookies, or how Tiffany Hood filled it with these fun paper strawberries. They make great party favor baskets too as seen at this darling Easter party.

Did you know that you can make your own berry baskets or berry containers? Lifestyle Crafts has a berry container cutting die that makes it so you can make your own out of whatever kind of cute patterned paper you like. It’s one of my favorite ‘box type’ dies they sell.

To make one, you basically just run the die and the card stock through your die cutting machine twice with new card stock each time, and then you assemble it together. I found my low temp hot glue gun to be the best adhesive for holding it together. Then fill it up with whatever you love…like gum balls!

Then just embellish it however you like. Isn’t that little striped paper clip cute on it? Would you believe I found a bag full of them while thrifting? I did. Oh the things you can find at a thrift store.

Aren’t these little baskets great?! What do you think? Are you loving the berry basket trend too?

I have a cuttlebug, and am wondering if this die would work with it. Does anyone know? We actually have a berry patch, so I’d love to be able to make boxes for the ones I give away!

      Hi Tia!

Yes! I have a cuttlebug too! This die works with the cuttlebug, you just have to adjust the plates you run it through with.
