#Gratefulgram

Happy November!

I have a confession. I love to pack up Halloween. I love the calm of this month in between the two big holidays. I love how my house feels with all the decorations in natural tones.

I have anticipated this month for the last year and it really is hard to believe that it has been a full year. November of last year (2011) was when our little Afton came in and out of our lives. It’s so hard to explain the range of emotions that come when I think of how our lives were flipped upside down one year ago. We have become better people through this experience in so many ways. Having a grateful heart through your trials is truly the only way to make it through.

So in honor of this month of giving thanks, and having a thankful or a grateful heart I will be posting a photo each day to Instagram with the hashtag #gratefulgram.

I love the idea of celebrating the little things that we sometimes over look but when we stop to think and thank about it, our outlook on life really changes.

My friend Amy of the Idea Room has put together this great list of prompts to help you all month, if you’d like to play along.

It’s okay if you want to do your own thing on some of the days, just remember to take a photo of something you are thankful for with the hashtag #GratefulGram.

I wish you all a month full of gratitude.

Have a great weekend.

I can’t believe it’s been 1 year! Our prayers are with you as you experience this anniversary, and I look forward to your grateful grams!

  3. Thinking about you during this bittersweet time of year. I think I will try to play along also

  4. Thinking of you during these tough times.

  5. I just read your posts about little Afton from last year with tears and a flood of emotion. It has been 3 months and 2 days since a little miracle named Grayson left us after just 4 days. It’s amazing how much their little spirits can touch us in such a short amount of time. How blessed we are to know that families are forever. You have probably heard this, but it’s a favorite ~ “Because someone we love is in heaven, there’s a little bit of heaven in our home.” Peace to you and your family on this one year anniversary.

    • Hi Lindsay!

Thank you for such a sweet note. My heart goes out to you too. Those first few months were so hard. It’s still hard, but at about 6 months, things started looking up.

I hope you have had a lot of love and support, as it is so so emotional.
