Giveaway: Decorating Cookies book

—Giveaway Now Closed—

Happy Monday!

I’m so excited about this new book. My sweet friend Bridget from Bake at 350 just came out with her first book: Decorating Cookies.

Her new book is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to all things cookie decorating. If you haven’t “met” Bridget yet, you must! She is one of my favorite bloggers. She has the most fun personality that just shines through her blog posts. When it comes to decorating cookies, she knows her stuff, and she is a great teacher too. One of my favorite things about this book is all the beautiful step by step photos, including a visual Table of Contents for quick referencing. Also the recipes are so great! She has given them the test of time. I love that she says she could make her sugar cookie recipe in her sleep.

I knew right away which cookie I had to make from her book. The little “slice of pumpkin pie”. I couldn’t get over the cuteness! It’s a cookie that looks like a piece of pie. Ha!

I had a little helper for the fun part of rolling the cookie dough out.

One of the neat things about this specific cookie, is that she came up with the template for the shape of the cookie. How cool is that?! This is one of the many things I loved learning from her book. It was such a think outside the “cookie cutter” moment for me. :)

She offers a bunch of original templates in her book, so you don’t have to be limited to just the shapes you find at the store. Once I cut out the template onto a thick plastic sheet, I used a sharp pairing knife to trace around the shape to cut out the rolled cookie dough, and it went quick!

After all the cookies were baked and cooled, I was onto the fun part of decorating. This is where Bridget shines, and this is where I need to ask you to not look too close. I’m no Bridget. Although I did have a lot of fun pretending like I was. :)

The great part about this particular cookie design is that it’s food looking like food, so I could get away with not so perfect icing.

We added a little smiley face to a few of them for fun, just to add to the cuteness.

These little pumpkin pies are just one of the 60+ adorable cookies you’ll find in Bridget’s new book.

You can find her new book Decorating Cookies on Amazon. It would make a wonderful Christmas gift! At under $10, you could give it to a bunch of your girlfriends.

Now for the fun part…the Giveaway! I get to give one of her new books away to one of you today.
