a daddy daughter date

(image above – one of my cute Activity Day girls with her Dad)

Last night was the Daddy Daughter Date for the Activity Day Girls (think boy scouts for girls). I was in charge of creating a little photo booth spot for the girls to get a picture with their dads. Isn’t it the cutest (toot-toot)/hilariously awesome?! The best part is that I get to use it again this week at the 1st grade party, and I’m going to try to talk Kyle into taking a super-cheesy kissing picture in it too (wish me luck). ;)

To make a big balloon heart like this, all you need are three bags of small 5 inch round balloons: pink, red & white. Then take a giant cardboard box and trace and cut out the frame of a heart and tape or staple the two halves together. Staple each blown up balloon onto the cardboard frame attaching them on by the balloon end after the knot. Fill the entire balloon! There you have it! Fun stuff!

Aren’t Daddy Daughter Dates the best? I loved them when I was little. The night was a lot of fun. They decorated sugar cookies, played a game of name-that-LOVE-tune and Valentine’s Pictionary. I love those girls.

The expression on her face says it all. I still remember going with my Dad. So fun!

Thanks for the good ideas! I'm in charge of the Daddy-daughter dinner on Friday and I need some fun ideas. We're having the World Premiere of the movie the girls have been working on all month (The story of Nephi and family leaving Jerusalem, then going back and getting the plates, etc. Complete with musical numbers! It's pretty funny.)

Maybe I can get one of my helpers to make the balloon heart.

Hey, I know her! I used to teach her art. I didn’t realize she was in your ward. She’s a cutie! And I love the heart idea–we may need to do that for a daddy daughter date we have coming up for Father’s Day.
