a very vintage-y Christmas

This time of year there’s a gravitational pull on me to the thrift store. It’s all that old Christmas crap decor that you’re throwing out. Slap the word “vintage” on it, and I am like a kid in the candy store. I’m not really sure what I’ll do with it, and I realize it will sit in storage for 90% of the year, but I still love it.

Here’s some of my fun Christmas finds:

honeycomb paper Santa decoration circa 1981:

Christmas fabric, tablecloths, and linens. I love that pom pom trim.

I love the needlework on this one…so pretty.

Mr. and Mrs. Claus ornaments (1982)

Christmas trim

this little tree…don’t ask. :)

a little caroling doll with a light. I don’t have the right bulb for the light. Any ideas on what year this doll would be? I’d love to know.

That’s it for all my fun Christmas thriftstore finds. How about you? Any great Christmas finds lately?

I love it too!! This year I finally came to the realization that there is a certain amount of tackiness that makes Christmas just so darn awesome. I’m ready to bring out the felt covered ornaments!!

I went today and all I found was an ugly Christmas sweater….which is perfect for my white elephant gift that I need for tomorrow evening!! hahaha. that christmas tree is hideous in a hilarious way. love the honeycomb santa. I’d die for one of those!!

I have some of the red poinsettia fabric, but mine does not have pom poms. I use it tucked in baskets, etc. I too LOVE the thrift stores. Here in Fl we are blessed with lots of thrifts so the prices can be sweet. I got a terrific vintage santa yesterday for 50 cents. Can’t wait to find a place for him.
