"If I knew you were comin’, I’d've a baked a cake."

I love the trend of little mini banners on the top of cakes, especially since I stink when it comes to frosting a cake.

Last Friday I shared the full tutorial of this little cake banner on Craftzine, and I love how it turned out! Although I feel the need to let you know that this cake…it’s not real.

I know!

My SIL Nicole the cake decorator extraordinaire helped me use Styrofoam cake forms to make this cake (thank you Nicole!). Shhh…don’t tell. ;) The good news is because it’s a fakey-fake, I can use it for more photos! Wahoo!

The cutting dies that I used for this project, are all from Lifestyle Crafts and cut with their Epic die-cutting machine.

holly & berries
hot cocoa mug
mittens
elf stocking
candy cane
snowy pinetree
Merry Christmas (I can’t find this one online.)

Next time you make a cake, skip the detailed frosting, and make a mini banner instead!

So so so cute. I love the how the banner is layered and zig zags. So fun, even if it is a fakey-fake cake! :)

Wait, what about those candy cane trees? Did you make those and share, did I miss that somewhere? Or did you buy them? They are so cute too!
