Quick Tip: Never Peel An Egg Again!

With Easter coming up, and hard boiled egg season upon us, I have to share this Quick Tip with you. I shared this tip last Easter (right here), but I thought I’d post it again for any new readers.

Never peel an egg again!

Just slice right through it,

and spoon it out. It’s a time saver. If you have any small pieces of shell, just brush them off.

Or do it like this guy!

Either way, never peel an egg again! biggrin

Ha! I was just thinking today (as I was peeling a hard boiled egg… and doing a miserable job at it) that there has got to be an easier way to peel an egg. Let's just say this post was spiritually inspired. Thanks for being so in tune. ;)

Oh my gosh! I'm so going to try both ways of hard boiled eggs. Now, my family LOVES LOVES LOVES to dye Easter Eggs, but NO ONE eats them after ecxept me. But how many hard boilded eggs can one person eat? Not many. I like egg salad too, but it always looks funny because some of the dye seeps through to the edible part and the egg salad is very oddly colored. Anyway, I'm going to try the egg tips. Thank you for sharing them.

This is brilliant! You never need an entire boiled egg, you always cut it. How have I never heard this before? Your blog has become a top three for me. Music, tips and DI. That's about all I want out of life. Thanks!

    Melissa says:

Great tip, Kami! I kinda do the same thing, but no cutting beforehand. I just take the spoon and pry the peel off of the egg. It usually works well, but I'd like to try your idea!

Tim Ferriss's idea is pretty cool, too. I think I need to try that one as well!

Tip to help with peeling eggs the normal way… Have similar tip. Add a little SALTto the boiling water. Must do something similar as the Baking Soda suggtion… It does seem to harden the shell away from the egg a bit more…so when you crack and peel it. Peeling goes SO MUCH faster and easier ! :)
