Blue Box

Time now for another try to be wordy…Wednesday:

Wait a minute?! That’s not a Redbox! That’s a Bluebox. I guess that’s what happens when “The Walmarts” get you. Speaking of Redbox, I waited and waited for 500 Days of Summer to come to a Redbox near me, and it never happened. So I had to take matters into my own hands and go to Hollywood video. While inside I asked the cashier how long it had been since our last rental, and she said 2006. Isn’t that crazy?! Has it really been four years of being a Redbox customer? Doesn’t it make you wish you had invented Redbox?!

Did you know that Redbox has an iPhone app? It’s way cool. Try it, you’ll like it.

I really liked 500 Days of Summer, (Did you see it?) even though I felt sad for him at the end.

My current song of the week (more like song of the month – oops)is from the 500 Days of Summer soundtrack. I really like it, you should take a listen.

One last thing… this is funny.

I really liked (500) Days of Summer too and was sad for him after his talk with Summer on the bench, but things looked up at the very end. Which song have you been listening to all month?

We love Netflix and use Redbox as special treats for our boys. It's nice to have so handy! Our WalMart doesn't have the blue one (yet).

Oh, I'm laughing hard about the church sign. I live in the Northern end of the Bible Belt, so I see church signs everywhere I go, and they are often hilarious. Who thinks these things up?

I'm famous for not seeing the potential in a brilliant idea. When I first saw a Redbox in McDonalds all those years ago, I found it baffling to rent a movie with my Happy Meal. I'm pretty sure I said something like, "Well, that's never gonna fly."

P.S. I think it's creepy that "the Walmarts" got to the redbox. "You may say 'Redbox,' boy, but around these here parts you're gonna bleed blue!"

Our local Redbox is blue too. What I love about Redbox? When we are on a long road trip, we stop at them in random places (like Flagstaff) and let the kids get a movie to watch to pass the time. The best since we can just return it to our home base blue, er, redbox!

We do netflix as well. Love the instant watch feature. Have you noticed the hollywood and blockbuster video stores now slowly closing down? Thanks to netflix and redbox for that…..

We really liked (500) Days of Summer, though it is sad at the end. And yet…there's a possibility of a new love at the end, so almost a happy ending!

    That church sign? Priceless!

I had mixed feelings about 500 days of Summer. Mostly because it just hit too close to home! But it was well done!

But that sign – priceless! :)

Ok, been peeking in at your blog for a little while now, and this post had me giggling from start to finish. Really, a bluebox?? Nice, WalMart.

And then a funny story about 500 Days of Summer – My sister was watching the dvd and was incredibly irritated by the constant narration. "tom standing in kitchen. tom breaking plate." I told her I didn't remember that being part of the movie. Turns out, she was watching the sight impaired version. So funny! I didn't even know they had that.

Lastly. That church sign. Oh. My. Goodness.

    Thanks for the laugh.

I heart the Blue Box, I mean Red Box. Now I know why 500 Days of Summer is never there. I haven't gone to Blockbuster in Forever!

I just watched that movie a couple of days ago! And I loved it. Besides the story, I loved the cinematography, etc. Got it from Netflix though (we upped our account from one to three for this month while I was sedentary and post-partumy). But we're big Redbox fans too – except that the one at the 7-Eleven less than a block away is always malfunctioning so we have to drive a whole mile (gasp!) to the grocery store for the one that's reliable.

Dave and I own (500) Days of Summer! We could have lent it to you. We love it. I love both of their wardrobes the whole movie too.

The church sign is definitely funny, but people know it's fake right?

Love this post! You speak to my heart and I'm going to have to post that photo :) of the church.
When we moved from UT to AZ there was no Redbox. We contacted the redbox people to find out why and see if we could open one up!I mean, we live in a college town. Well now 4 years later, we have Redbox. I am finally watching movies again.Sharla @ my little gems

Last year when my husband and I went to see that movie we turned to each other at the exact same time and said "I love this movie!" So I bought it when it came out, but I didn't like it so much the second time around.

I have only used redbox once when my girls wanted to see High School Musical and there was so way I was going to spend more than one dollar on that thing. Usually I rent from netflix because I tend to only like the oddball movies and documentaries which they don't even have in stores.

Arianne (who is my sister) was just telling me that you two used to work together (with your husbands as well). Small world!
