Open your dishwasher door when you spray cooking spray, to avoid greasing up your counter top. I wish I could remember where I first heard this one, but I use it all the time. And while we are on the topic of dishwashers, it’s a good thing to leave the door open over night every once in a while to let it dry out in there.
If you have any little quick tips that you’d like to share, I’d love to hear them. Any little thing that you have learned along the way that makes life easier.

Brilliant. I usually spray over the sink, but this is a much better idea!

Great idea. I am always getting grease on the counter and it drives me crazy. Thanks for the tip!
Such a good idea! I've actually walked outside to do this before because I always make such a mess with that stuff! Dishwasher open from now on.
I love it when someone shares something so simple that makes life (in the kitchen- or elsewhere) so much easier! Thanks!
Just found your blog…so glad I did!
Nice thinking! I hate when over spray gets on the floor and makes it slippery!
What a great idea! All of your quick tips are great for that matter…Lucky me for finding your blog!
I love this idea. I haven't used cooking spray in a while because of the mess it makes. Thanks for sharing this.
Ditto what Tiffany said.
And my husband hates it when I leave the dishwasher open. I don't know why.
I do this over my sink, which is pretty good, but still gets on my counters. SO I love the dishwasher idea.
That’s a great idea! I turned off the heated drying cycle on my dishwasher and leave the door open w/ the drawers pulled out overnight to dry. It saves on electricity and hopefully does the trick to keep the inside dry and non-smelly. It couldn’t hurt to leave it open some nights w/out the drying dishes: I should give that a try! Thanks!
