A New Table

Last month we sold our black table and chairs on KSL. I had HAD IT (!) with the grooves on the top of the table which turned out to be a big crumb trap. No one should have to vacuum the top of their table to get it clean. After we sold it, I wanted something completely opposite...so WHITE it would be. We bought both the table and the chairs at Ikea... say "Hi" to Norden and Gilbert, I mean Gilbert(s). Actually I really liked a different table at Ikea, it just didn't pass my fingernail test very well. oops.

So far I am loving it, the white just brightens everything up.

Here's a pic of our old table.

This was our table Christmas morning, with my new favorite type of table runner...wrapping paper! :)

Merry Christmas...to me... to us... to all of us, as we gather round. I mean as we gather rectangle. ;)

I'd love to know what was your favorite thing you got for Christmas?

your table set up is just darling - but I have to know - I LOVE your peace letters - but how do you have them mounted? I am so scared to put *seasonal* things up on my walls!

I love it, I have been wanting a white table too. I have the same black table with grooves, I was even warned before buying it. Love the new white table.

Hi Jen! I hung the letters with little nails. I should care more about making holes, but I don't really. Whatever.

DARLING table and table setting! So fun. Nothing like new furniture. Makes you smile every time you come in the room. I have a black coffee table with groves in it that drives me crazy too. Never again!

As for me, my fav Christmas gift is my new 50 mm lens, although I need a lot of practice with it before I'm even close to "Kami talent." :)

I am so jealous! i want a new kitchen table so bad!! I found my dream table (with no grooves!) but it's uber expensive... so I have to wait. My favorite Christmas was an iPhone. I finally dropped my Blackberry for an iPhone and I've been downloading apps like crazy!

I love the new look.
I also love your Christmas morning table.

I actually own a Gilbert too. He is my desk chair. I really like him.

Hmmmm... favorite thing I got for Christmas. I should say my new camera lens, but really it was this funky yellow ring from Mac. We saw it in a little shop on a date night recently. It turned up in a little box under the tree. It was nothing expensive...but such a fun little thoughtful surprise.

How cute was your table Christmas morning? Love it.

My fave thing? A giftcard from my MIL to my fave store because I love shopping! And hopefully the Kindle that Luvpilot got me. I haven't been able to use it yet because I need to get through the books I have first.

Very cute, and LOVE the idea about the wrapping paper runner!

Question: I have the same exact light fixture above my dining table, and I hate it, but your is so cute...you have different glass globes than mine...did you change yours out, and if so, where'd you find them? I guess I could just go try to find my own, but if you have a tip that saves my time, bless you!

Love the white table. My favorite present was a mix cd my husband made me of our favorite songs from the first five years of our marriage. I cried when I opened it.

i heart it. MUCHO.

and who thinks about wrapping paper for a runner? of COURSE you do!

my favorite present by far is my phone--it's the fo shizzle.

Great Table! But even better settings. Wrapping paper, really? That's genius!

My favorite gift was my husband kicking me out of our house for four hours Christmas Eve Eve and cleaning it top to bottom. He even cleaned the bathtub and showers. Best present ever!!

FYI: I have hung things like your letters if they aren't too heavy with that sticky putty stuff. I have letters hanging in my daughters room with it going on two years now.

I ADORE, ADORE the new table, it's so you! And the decor looks like it should be the cover of a Real Simple magazine. Mwah!

P.S. The horse was my favorite present, EVER.

Love the new table set Kam. White does have a way of making things look so fresh and clean! My favorite Christmas present was a 3 hour spa package. Can't wait to use it!

I loved your old table and chair set, but I can imagine how crazy those grooves drove you.

I LOVE the modern chairs. Very hip.

You're TOTALLY inspiring me, now. I've been living with a big ol' grooved table, also, and it's no walk in the park. Vacuuming the grooves is something I'd not yet thought of, though, so I think we'll start there until we can upgrade. ;)

Kami,
I love your blog posts, every single one of them. You have great writing skills, cute pictures, and the same turkey on your table as I do at thanksgiving (I also did a clock make-over similar to yours-we have a similar decorating taste). I hope and pray every day that you don't EVER make your blog private...so blogstalkers like me (but hey we did go to middle school together) have something fabulous to look at every single day.

p.s. I said single and similar too much in that comment! :)
