The best thing about this Family Christmas Card (via 1982) is my sister Shauna’s hairdo.
That year my mom took my sister to Sears to get a perm. We all still laugh about it.
We can hear my mom now: “I’ll take some Craftsman tools, a lawn mower, and a perm please.”
PS. My sister Becky commented saying Christmas Past week is more like embarrass your siblings week.
Dangit! She’s on to me.

I think I still have the original of this Christmas card! At the time, Shauna seemed so much older to me than the rest of us. Love the smocking & ruffles on your dresses
I remember that picture. Your family always has funny stories like that.
And I think it is true about the embarrass your siblings because you look so darling, sweet, and innocent in that picture:)
That picture is actually pretty cute, I must say. I have some Sears perm pictures that are pretty scary. I love Christmas past week.
I also love that we are all dressed up and T.R. has on his velor sweatsuit. Funny.
I never knew Shauna did such a mean Michael Jackson impersonation.
Kyle…She's 'BAD'!
Shauna…that's how boys 'dressed up' in the 80's!
Kami…this week better end with a big ole Kami moment or I'll start bloggin' again just to right the wrong!!!!! Am I right?!?!?!?!
Yes, Becky. You are right. We could always post Kami's ballet recital…huh?
I love sears. I just wish they had groceries so you could do it ALL.
To be honest, I was surprised you didn't get Avery a perm like Shaunas. WHY NOT?
I never had a perm specifically from Sears but my mom permed my hair a lot! And with poofy big bangs… it was not a good look!
I think I got the JCPenney's perm once.
Wasn't much better.
I'm glad I could inspire you to post your old Christmas card pics.
I had no idea Sear's did perms.
I can't stop laughing about the perm at sears. I wonder if they still do them? That Christmas card is awesome!
