for the pile of clean clothes on my bed waiting to be folded, because it means we have clothes to wear.
for the eternally messy art drawer, because it means we have a creative 6 year old.
for the holes in the wall where a book shelf once hung, because it means we have an active baby boy.
for the doggy-noses (aka dog snot) left on our bed skirt, because it means we have a happy dog excitedly looking for his ball to play.
for the dings in the wall from the glider rocker, because it means we are reading to and rocking with our children.
for the fingerprints left on the sliding glass door, because it means that we have kids and a dog at home (and apparently, I'm too busy commenting on friend's blogs to clean...).
The idea for this post came about from a poem similar to this one. It's crazy how many things we complain about are actually blessings with the right perspective.

I love this post! I will approach my day with new eyes. Thanks.
It is fun to see that your house actually does get messy and has dings in the wall. I love that poem. Tell me you got it in one of those dumb forwards that we hate so much, some of them are actually worthwhile huh?
This has to be one of my favorite posts! Thanks for sharing!
This brought tears to my eyes. You are so right. I have been complaining about all the things I will eventually miss. Thanks for that.
Thank you for putting my dirty fridge door, piles of clean laundry at the end of my bed, crumbs all over the kitchen floor, piles of children's shoes in a basket and pencil marks all over our walls in perspective! :)
Very cute. I love it!
So true! What a great post Kami. I'm off to clean the breakfast mess everyone just left...and be happy about it!
EEeewww, dog snot!
Sorry, What was that post about?
Amen! ;)

so true. your children are lucky to have a mama that keeps things in perspective.
Very cute and creative! Should I be grateful for a dog that chewed the weather stripping off my car?... or just be glad I have a car that the dog can chew?!?
I love this. I know I will miss all the little messes around my house once they're gone.
I completely agree...except for maybe the dog snot one.
Loving this!!
Such a great reminder Kam. I really need to seek out the positive more in my life!
Thank you. Sometimes we all need a reminder.
