Thrift Store Thursday – Brass

If I was Fergalicious, I would say “the Brassy-Brassy”, and if I was on Etsy I would say “Vintage Brass”, because it would sell better; either way works. The thing about brass, is that it is pretty timeless. So if I can find a cool piece, it’s a thrill.

Ever since I was little, my Dad has always given my sisters and I a valentine. One year he gave each of us something made of brass. Shauna got an old dinner bell, Becky got a little bird (Becky Birdie), and I got a vase (as seen below). This little valentine made me look at brass a little differently, probably because it was from my Dad.

I loved how Allison described her thrifting experience, along with her fun finds. Not only because I related so much, but also because I had no idea how good we have it with D.I. (when it comes to thrift stores).

You need to see how Melissa transformed a thrifted muu-muu, very cute. I also loved reading this interview with Eva on YHO; and how D.I., Savers and Thrift town are always a part of her Utah visit.

How about you, any great thrift store finds?

Yes! I recently found a big, old black trunk and a very kitschy giant red lamp to sit on top of it. I love them!

What cute brassy things! I haven't had very good luck with thrifting in Utah – maybe I'm missing the technique. I do love garage sales though.

I love those little owls – so adorable! Hope you are having a wonderful day Kami!

My last DI trip I scored the most beautiful 3-tiered silver server. It is sort of smallish.

For dinner the other night I served sliced peaches on the bottom tier, whole strawberries on the middle & fresh plump blueberries on the top tier.

    Kami,

We need to make a thrifting date. I think we could do some serious damage between DI and Savers. Seriously.

Everytime I get the opportunity I go to D.I. My love for DI and Thrift Town & Savers only increased when I moved to California. Seriously I thought Cali would have great thrifting. I was SOOOO disappointed.

Those owls are amazing. I love!
