I have loved these little decorative trees from Ikea. I have used them to add height to a table and to help celebrate a holiday or a birthday.
My lastest project using the Ikea trees came about after I had bought a bunch of these Jewelry Stands from Urban Outfitters to use as little gifts. They were on sale, so I bought a bunch of them. Although I like to use these little stands as a cupcake, cookie, or CAKEster stand rather than a jewelry stand. You can’t go wrong using them either way.
The jewelry stands came with these metal tags that could be viewed as a throw away item, but I saw something different, something better. So I took all the stickers off of them and prepped them for spray paint.
Chalk Board Spray Paint! I love that stuff. (Now if only they offered all the neat new colors in a spray paint too.)
So here is the latest way I have found to decorate these little trees from Ikea. Right now it is being used as a spot light tree, an Avery Spot Light tree.

So creative…love it!
I wish I was this creative. Isn't Ikea great?
Too stinkin' creative… Love all of the ideas… love IKEA!
Nobody rocks the recession like Kami. Seriously, were you this resourceful before the economy tanked???
love it!

She's crafty! Not shocked. Very cute.
Add "Has a big bump on her ear"
or
"Doesn't like swings anymore"
to Avery's tree
ok, I have to comment on this one. Nikki saw this and loved it. She has a love for chalk boards and I totally forgot about the paint that will make practically anything a chalk board. Thanks for the reminder… It's such a cute idea. Love ya Mel
I never thought of using a jewelry stand for cookies. I'm going to Urban now. So cute.
Wow! brilliant. Love how these turned out and am going to keep my eyes open for similar opportunities.

This is such a cute idea. I am driving right by Ikea today. I will have to stop in and take a look.
