…mostly because I didn’t want my last post to be up top all day.
While in Vegas, I talked Kyle into helping me track down some French macarons in the Venetian Hotel as suggested by Liz. After four different elevator trips (up three down four…)we found them, and they were worth it. My reader has been filled with images of these little cookies all different colors and flavors, and I was dying to try them. I have yet to make them, but now I really want to, and when I do, I will follow Carina word for word. While at the Bouchon Bakery, we also picked up a pain au chocolate (aka a croissant with chocolate inside) which was not as great (the croissants at Costco taste better to me… funny).
Vegas…it’s like you’re in Paris, only you’re not.

MMMM…I was at the Venetian last year and DID not see this??? I missed out, but my sister lives in Vegas so next time I’m checking out these babies!
is it bad that i have NO idea what a macaroooooooon is? that picture is enough to sell me on getting one, though. what’s inside?
Those cookies look so good.
I feel like lately macarons are the new cupcake as they are trendy, trendy, trendy here in the NYC. And yet, I have not tried any. After my holiday dessert party my trainer (yes, my trainer!) suggested I try making them because she is addicted. And I have a Bouchon Bakery of my very own just a couple of blocks from my house. I think I know what my weekend treat is going to be. It is high time I see what all the hype is about.
Oh – I love macaroons! My grandma used to make them when we would come to visit and they were divine. They bring back so many childhood memories…
XOXO

That is exactly why I love visiting Las Vegas. The Paris hotel has some of the best European bakeries in it including a crepe restaurant/stand. It’s one of the highlights!
I love macaroons and those are to die for! Now my mouth is watering!
Those look really yummy!!!!!!
I need to try a macaron!
You should try the croissants at Pierre Country Bakery. So good!
Kami–did you ever make them? I'm about to try my second batch this weekend. Hold me! I'm scared!
