Overheard: An older woman making small talk with a young bored-with-life teenage girl.
And I quote, “So tell me, do you like to go places and do things?”
No Way?! Did my sister Shauna and I ever take this little Gem to the next level! We still think it’s funny. If only you could have heard it for yourself. No wonder that teenage girl was bored with life, I think I would be too. Forget talking about the weather (as six inches of snow falls outside my window…arrrgh), this will now be my go to line for small talk.
Some days, this one thing note pad would be a real boost for me. Just to know that I accomplished at least one thing that day. Now if only they made a ‘Go Places’ one, then I’d be set. 
So tell me, how about you, Do you like to go places or do things? Whatever you say, just don’t answer: ‘Both’. That would be way too vague.
I like to go places and just sit. I want to sit at a park and watch my kids and I want to sit at a friends house and trade gossip.
So I think I am a go’er and not a do’er
Oh yes!, I have to DO ONE THING everyday. I try to accomplish something whether it’s big or small. It may be as simple as cleaning off my desk or taking a walk with my family.
I find it amazing when hear someone say their bored. There are so many things to do, big and small. You just need to WANT TO.
Yes, I like to go places and do things. Although, I’m getting very comfortable at home and the thought of going far away (like on a plane) does not excite me like it once did. I think it’s because of all the work that goes into getting there.
But I love to do things! And try things that I’ve never tried before! And eat things that seem crazy! (I just tried octopus.)
I love the notepad, by the way. One thing a day is my average, it seems.
I like to go places! Any place that I don’t know already, different places that intimidate me, far away places that call to me! Take me anywhere as long as I can come home.
As an OCD, type A person, I would have to say do things. I love making a list and checking things off as I get them accomplished. It’s a feel good!
I would like to go more places, but let’s face it, it costs too much right now.
Do things? Heck yah. I think sometimes doing things is better than going places especially when you are with other people. It seems to give you more chances to talk, catch up, or get to know people better when you are doing things.

Sometimes I go places and sometimes I do things, when I am feeling really crazy I go places AND do things!
MUST go places and do things. Doesn’t matter what, but going and doing DRIVE me!
I love to go places . . .
On my days off I like to take long drives with the expectation of seeing something I haven’t before.
I usually end up in Sugarhouse which really defeats the purpose!
As for doing things, I find myself too busy and think a day where I let myself go and do nothing would be nice.
I think I like to go places way too much. If I don’t have somewhere to go, then I often go to Target. Target got me through many dreary New England afternoons with bored kiddies (and mommy) and a busy law school attending husband. Also Goodwill. That’s another place I go. And my kids have a ton of clothes because of it!
As for a doer, I wish I did more. I have lots of ideas that never come to fruition. I think I need that note pad!
Oh, and sometimes when we lived in New Hampshire I would just get up and decide to drive to the coast or up to Maine, or just somewhere! Because driving around New England is pretty, and going is so much fun. I’m a go-er for sure.
Go places, for sure. I have traveled the world. But also, I just like to go places outside the house. I hate being trapped here, and I love to go out with friends, go shopping, see a movie, go on a trip…anything, really, to get me out of the house.
I tend to eat places and go to things.
