We truly have so much to be thankful for. So many friends and family have been so kind during this time as Aiden joined our family. There have been so many thoughtful gifts. I wanted to highlight one of them today on this Thankful Thursday. My good friend Laurie made that little Rag Quilt for Aiden, and I think it is darling. What touched me so much about this gift is that she also made another (big one) for Megan, so that when she left the hospital that night she would have something soft and warm to wrap around her. When she gave it to me to give to Megan, I thought it was so nice that she thought of Megan too. I love looking at this quilt and knowing that Megan has a matching one. I wanted to talk about it back on this post, but I thought it was too special, and I wanted to save it for a later time. I also wanted to wait until we gave it to Megan. Thanks Laurie, you have been so thoughtful.
i absolutely love that blanket!! i sleep with it every night. that and the blanket that he was wrapped in at the hospital.
thank you so much laurie. i appreciate it so much more than you can understand. i love seeing it and knowing that aiden has a matching one.

That’s about the sweetest thing ever. I love good kind people. This little Aiden is so cute, I so badly wish we could smell him from these pictures, and that hair is just so amazing. My 2 yr. is so behind him in the hair department.
Oh and I love that he’s swaddled, I discovered that trick with my 3rd and it’s magic.
I agree with what everyone above me has said, but I just have to add that Aiden has nailed his “blue steel” look in this picture. He’s already getting used to the shutterbug side of his mama!
I love your blog Kami! It’s so fun reading and seeing pictures of Aiden and the rest of your family! It’s comforting to Meg, as well as the rest of our family. We know Aiden is being taken care of amazingly. How we have grown to love your family! Thanks for being there for Meg as well. That means so much to us as her parents! You’re awesome!!

What a nice thing for everyone, Adoption is just an amazing thing. The bright colors on that blanket are amazing.
Oh and I just LOVE the tight lip look that Aiden seems to have in a few of his shots, it is as if he is saying “I see you too Mom”

That’s the sweetest gesture. I have tears in my eyes thinking about what a great gift Megan gave to the two of you and how thoughtful it was to give her a matching blanket. Even though she doesn’t have that sweet baby to hold, she will always have a part of him in her heart and now wrapped around her.

Actually there is a story/myth behind mistakes on a quilt. It says that the Amish used to make a purposeful mistake on a quilt because they believe only God is perfect. I believe that too, but when it comes to perfect love it doesn’t get any more beautiful than what Megan did. Ok, now I will end my comment that is as long as a post

i am overwhelmed at what a beautiful idea it was to send home a blanket for megan to wrap around herself, as well. i’ve never heard of something like that but i think it is one of the most genuine statements you could make to her.
