Our Human Footprint

Seeing this promo, really makes me stop and think about how much we each consume, it is crazy.

Today’s simple tip is one of my favorite quotes (I can’t remember who said it):

Use it up, wear it out,
Make it do, or do without.

That’s a great quote! Admittedly, it’s easier said than done. Have you seen “The Story of Stuff” video?

Very interesting take of where “stuff” comes from.

I am such a consumer! YIKES. Maybe I will start getting my fountain drink in a refill cup. It kindof freaks me out… thanks for all the little wake-up calls this week.

It’s a wonder there is room for us!

Our boiler broke this week & we have been without hot water and heat (we have radiant heat) – it’s been a little rough. But, what makes me sick is the amount of hot water that gushed from the tank before we found that we had a problem. Water that had to be heated and was never used – sickening and expensive. On the up side, we are replacing that old inefficient tank with a more efficient one (better for the earth and our monthly bill).
