Caprese Time! Caprese is Italian for delish!
This is the time of year when I get to put all my tomatoes and basil to good use. Add a little balsamic and Voila! Thanks Food Network, now I can chiffonade with the best of them.
Speaking of Food Network, I love Giada on Everyday Italian, until recently when my sister-in-law Nicole pointed out how she throws her accent in when she says any Italian word. She will be talking normal and then she will say something like “spaghetti” or “linguine” and all of a sudden she has an accent. Now whenever I see it I have to laugh. It is too funny. Try it yourself, next time you say an italian word, throw in a little Italian accent, it’s great fun.
Moving on…my new favorite cooking show is America’s Test Kitchen. If you can handle the bow tie, it is a great show testing the best cooking tools, food products and recipes.

Over the holiday weekend we had a little cookout up the canyon. This is a pic of Sam and Thatch (“The Tudballs”), Avery’s favorite cousins to boss around.
This is little Charlie my sister Shauna’s youngest A.K.A “Mr. Furley” (you know from Three’s Company).
Here is my Bro T.R. trying out his parenting skills on little Charlie. He just needs a little more practice. ![]()
My Grandma Tyler showing us all how it’s done.

Avery and Annie down by the river.

It looks like you have had a fun summer. If I can figure out this blogging thing I’d love to jump in. I check yours often so keep entertaining me!!

Shauna’s little boy is so cute and I cannot believe how old T.R. is. Man, I guess I’m getting old! Have you ever watched Alton Brown on Good Eats or Feasting on Asphalt. They are such good shows!! Highly recommend Feasting on Asphalt. It is going on right now on Saturdays. We TIVO it and it is great!
Happy Summer! Such fun! I just love family gatherings. . .even if they aren’t mine.
Happy Labor day!
I too LOVE the food network! I haven’t seen Test Kitchen yet, I’ll have to give it a try! Your Caprese lookes divine. You are totally right. . .Giada’s sometimes accent is sort of hilarious.
OK, I love Food Network. Love Alton Brown, lalalalove Paula Deen, met Sandra Lee (her boyfriend lived in my building in NY), and dislike Giada. I have a friend who kind of knows her and says she is a big time brat! And her accent…don’t even get me started.
I don’t mean to sound rude. If people want to like her, then they should.
But your caprese on the other hand, looks so so good!
Wow Kami, I am impressed. I didn’t even know what caprese was. You need to teach me some skills. I bought a cute apron but I’m not so sure what to do with it.
What a beautiful family you have! Thanks for letting me view your blog !
I love caprese salads. That looks so yummy Kami, great presentation. Looks like you are ready for Top Chef.
This picture of me is funny…Chuck is crying and I actually had a bloody nose that day…click on the picture and see the bigger version…there is dried blood on the bottom of my nose…enjoy…
